Who We Are

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Data: Name, email, password, parent/guardian info.
  • Journal Entries: Reflections, moods, notes (entered by parent or child under parental account).
  • Community Content: Posts, comments, shared experiences.
  • Purchase Data: Billing and payment details (via third-party processors).
  • Usage Data: IP address, device type, browser, interactions with features.
  • Comments: When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) from your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to display profile images. See Gravatar’s privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

2. Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from uploaded images.

3. Cookies

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last one year.
  • A temporary cookie is set on the login page to check if your browser accepts cookies; it is discarded when you close your browser.
  • Login cookies last two days; screen option cookies last one year. “Remember Me” extends login cookies for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.
  • If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser (no personal data, only post ID). Expires in 1 day.

4. Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other site directly. Those sites may collect data, use cookies, and track interactions.

5. Use of Information

We use collected data to:

  • Provide journaling, community, and AI features.
  • Personalize user experiences.
  • Improve services and develop new features.
  • Process online store transactions.
  • Communicate updates, offers, or community notices.

6. Children’s Privacy & COPPA

  • FutureStriker does not permit children under 13 to create accounts.
  • A parent/guardian may allow a child under 13 to use their account for journaling or reflection features, under direct supervision.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13 without parental consent.
  • If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 without consent, we will delete it.

7. Who We Share Your Data With

  • If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
  • We may share data with service providers (e.g., payment processors, hosting).
  • We may disclose data if required by law.

8. How Long We Retain Data

  • Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely to auto-approve follow-ups.
  • For registered users, we store personal information in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete personal information at any time (except username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

9. What Rights You Have

  • If you have an account or left comments, you may request an exported file of your personal data or request erasure of personal data we hold.
  • We may retain data required for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

10. Where Your Data is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We take reasonable steps to protect your data but cannot guarantee complete security. Users are responsible for safeguarding login credentials.

12. AI Features

  • Journal prompts, mood analysis, and answers are powered by AI.
  • Data used in AI interactions may be stored and processed to improve features but will not be sold.

13. Georgia Law & Disputes

  • This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA.
  • Any disputes will be handled in Gwinnett County, Georgia courts.

14. Updates

We may update this Policy periodically. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
